Dublin Writers Festival 2010
The client:
Dublin Writers Festival
The brief:
To research and write a new look brochure for the annual Dublin Writers Festival. To help reposition the festival as a major European celebration of writers and writing. To see the project through various proof stages to final print.
The format:
A5 48pp full-colour brochure.
The concept:
I concentrated less on biographical detail and more on the mood/ambience of each event. We aimed to present the festival programme in a fresh new light, reflecting its international focus and diversity of content.
The feedback:
‘Copy for book festival events tends to be very factually based, listing author’s books, etc; what makes Max’s copywriting so good and so distinctive is his ability to understand what will interest and entice a potential audience. It’s audience-friendly in the best sense. And he can clarify the themes of potentially complicated debates or discussions in just a few sentences without losing the cut and thrust of the live event.’
